Department of Community Medicine
Description
Community Medicine and Public Health is a subject of phase III of MBBS program. Community Medicine and Public Health are vital in the context of Bangladesh, where population density, poverty, and limited healthcare access pose major health challenges. This subject focuses on disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of public health programs that improve community well-being. It equips healthcare professionals with knowledge of Epidemiology, Research Methodology, Biostatistics, Sanitation, Nutrition, and Health Education - essential for tackling communicable and non-communicable diseases. By emphasizing preventive care and equitable health services, Community Medicine and Public Health contribute significantly to achieving national health goals, reducing maternal and child mortality, and improving the overall quality of life in Bangladesh.
