Department of Pharmacology:
The department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics is a center of
excellence for learning pharmacology in Mymensingh Medical
College, a public sector medical college. The department is one
of the oldest departments which started its activity since the
inception of the college way back in 1962. In the department,
there is one Professor, one associate professor, two assistant
professors, five lecturers & one medical officer. The department
is one of the most spacious & well equipped with modern
scientific appliances. The department imparts tuition to
undergraduate 3rd & 4th year MBBS students. It also has its
post-graduate course conferring M.Phil degree after completion
of a total of 2 years’ organized academic studies & scientific
thesis works. Every year Six (06) students 03 government
candidates & 03 non-government candidates are admitted into the
post-graduate course. After the introduction of M.Phil course
until January, 2017, a total of 16(sixteen) students
successfully completed their post graduate course & obtained
M.Phil degree. The department has carried out several thesis
works involving animal studies & herbal medicinal properties.
The department has carried out thesis work in collaboration with
the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Bangladesh Agricultural
University. The department looks forward to work in
collaboration with the allied department from across the country
& abroad.
