Department of Pediatric Surgery: Department of Pediatric Surgery in Mymensingh Medical College started in the year of 1995 with the active participation and guidance of General Surgery. In the 1999, individual pediatric service instituted with Assistant Professor and Assistant Registrar. Since then, routine and emergency pediatric surgical services ongoing. MS Pediatric Surgery course started from 2002. In the meantime, five MS students passed. Faculty members, staffs and post graduate students detailing below herewith. Courses & training, educational activities, hospital services and research works mention below. Daily 24 hours activities, twice yearly journal club and clinical meeting done design by central MMC academic activities. Weekly departmental academic activities and monthly surgical audit performed. MS Pediatric Surgery final part examination held in department twice in a year.

Education- Course & training:
Course : Course eg: MBBS, MS (Pediatric Surgery) Training: Training for MS degree and Internship MBBS: lectures- 4th year MBBS students in each Wednesday 5th year MBBS students in each Sunday. Bedside training twice in a week. Post graduate: Lectures- Twice in a week, Bedside training As assistancy in routine operation twice in a week, As assistancy in emergency operation/performer with close supervision.
Diagnostic/ Lab services: a. Facilities available: Daily emergency services. b. Outpatient (OPD): Schedule- twice in a week. c. Inpatient: Unit with in charge and admission date: Routine admission twice in a week and emergency admission daily. Routine operation twice in a week and emergency operation daily.
