Department of Neurology:
Neurology department in Mymensingh Medical College was established in 2002, starting with only one Assistant Prof. and no other supporting staff. Initially service was limited in weekly outpatient basis and referral call. Gradually the dept. expands with inpatient unit, twice weekly outpatient service, specific disease clinic, journal club, seminar symposium etc. Now the dept. has almost full fledged with teachers, supporting staffs, trainee doctors and post graduate students. Though currently inpatient dept. is sharing ward with other sub specialty dept., very soon the dept. will be shifted in the new hospital building as a full super specialty unit with individual ward for male and female patients. This dept. is doing excellent job in this part of the country including patient service, disease awareness, offering modern technologies etc. A good number of academic and research activities are also running in the department.
