Department of Endocrinology: Department of Endocrinology, Mymensingh Medical College has been established in June 2000. Organogram consists of one Professor, one Associate Professor, one Assistant Professor and one Assistant Registrar. It has got indoor and referral outdoor. Allocated bed for indoor is 10 (ten), five for male and five female. In addition, any number of beds can be used from cabin and paying beds subject to availability. Under graduate students are regularly placed in Endocrinology department as a part of their clinical attachment. There is a clinical card with items and regular card examination as a record of their performance. Trainee doctors and house physicians are regularly placed in the department as a part of their training. Residency training in the department of Endocrinology is recognized by the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. There are schedules of Endocrine Lecture Classes for the clinical students. Endocrinology department participates in the weekly clinical meeting and journal club session as a routine and take part in the departmental presentation. In addition, department organizes CME program form time to time. Endocrinology department also takes part in national and international seminars and symposia related with the specialty. There are departmental research works particularly related with Diabetes and Endocrine diseases. Already there are good number of publications in National and International journals.

a. Facilities available Admission facilities in ward, paying bed, cabin and consultation services for diabetes, thyroid and other hormonal diseases in the referral outdoor. In addition consultation services for the admitted patients in different departments of this hospital on referral. b. OPD: Schedule: Tuesday, every week. Personnel: One Professorial staff, Assistant Registrar/ Indoor Medical Officer/ Honorary Medical Officer along with trainee doctors. c. Inpatient: Unit- Endocrinology Unit In charge: Professor of Endocrinology. Admission Date: Every day except holydays through Resident physician.
Course: MBBS Training: BCPS training duration- one year. MBBS: Lecture classes of 3rd year, 4th year and 5th year MBBS class. Tutorial: Ward placement of clinical students for 15 days as a part of clinical attachment. |
