Department of Biochemistry:
Biochemistry department, Mymensingh medical college is located in the 2nd floor of the southern side of the college building having a big floor space of about 5000 square feet. This is the latest and modern branch of medical science which deals with the chemical basis of all living cells. Without the basic knowledge of Biochemistry, the other branches of medical science can’t be understood clearly; so it is also known as the basic language of all the medical sciences. This subject is started as a separate department in 1996 and now it includes as a compulsory and individual subject for MBBS and BDS students in the 1st prof examination. It also provides academic as well as clinical laboratory services and training to the medical technologists. From the very beginning in 1996 this subject is meant for teaching and learning medical Biochemistry in the government sector under the government of Bangladesh. Now the academic activities is extended upto the learning of M Phil Biochemistry course under the university of Dhaka and BSMMU. This subjects also deals with students of different MS, MD courses like Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Urology, Nephrology, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Neurology, Radiology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics etc. Every year 05(five) Medical graduates are admitted in the M Phil course who undertakes a research work of one year thesis work. In the good academic and research atmosphere all the faculty members of Biochemistry department are working together to maintain a very good quality of academic carrier. The field of research work in the subject of Biochemistry includes all the biochemical aspects. Our vision is to achieve a good quality in the field of clinical Biochemistry to give a better service for the human well being.

Course : Undergraduate- MBBS, BDS Post graduate – M Phil (Biochemistry), MD&MS Training : BCPS full time training in Biochemistry. Training in Biochemistry under BSMMU,DU. Training for diploma technologist both government and private sector.
